We have renovated numerous homes and thought we'd seen it all, but we've never had an experience like the one we just had with Old World Construction. They finished our project three days ahead of deadline and right on budget--yes, really!--despite the fact that the scope of the project ballooned and also became more complex after it began. What's most impressive though is the extraordinary quality of their work. Marek has collected a truly outstanding team of very smart craftsmen who treat your house as though it were their own home. They do not cut corners, they do not waste time, they are meticulous and detail-oriented, they care deeply about doing things the right way and, maybe most unusual of all, they make sure that everything doesn't just work perfectly but is also beautiful. Marek's team (especially Pavel, who's a genius when it comes to troubleshooting problems) actually made this renovation fun and exciting--yes, really!--rather than the usual stress-filled nightmare of escalating costs and unhappy compromises. Ashley, Peter and the rest of the team kept the reno humming along at a good clip, so much so that we never even had to check on our place, which was transformed from a dark house with good bones to a warm, bright and beautiful home. Hands down, the best contractor we've ever worked with.
